FitRight

Background

Pediatric CPAP masks are currently in low availability and do not suit the wide range of growing children who have different physiological needs than adults. Interviews with doctors and caregivers show that current products are ill-fitting and do not grow with the child.

Children on the autism spectrum, specifically those with Down Syndrome, between the ages of 6 to 12, were chosen due to high prevalence of sleep apnea in this population.

Project objective

Deliver positive airway pressure through a noninvasive ventilation system that is customizable, adaptable, and unique to each child’s face and needs, specifically children on the autism spectrum.
