Assistech
AssisTech is an organization that aims to prepare students to utilize techniques and tools available at Georgia Tech, create prototypes for client-use, and incorporate user-feedback into designs to create assistive technology for children with disabilities.
Dual focus
Education
We teach all students, regardless of major, fabrication techniques, from basic wood-working skills to more advanced welding.
Additionally, we bring in guest speakers once a month from industry, academia, or an expert in a field of interest. Our guest speakers give our students additional insight into the world of universal design and design for people.
Philanthropy
Therapy devices are often over-priced and out of reach for some families. Our students partner with organizations to build simple therapy equipment, toys, and other products for children with disabilities.
In turn, our students learn about disability inclusion on a larger scale and how we can incorporate universal design in our every day lives.
